Do you remember the days at the old schoolyard?

Isn't it amusing how much can change in so little a time?

Back in Primary School years and years ago, I met two guys who were best friends, Matt and Ryan. They'd been best friends since re-school and I found them jut as close in Year 3. So I joined them as friends and eventually it came to pass that the three of us were inseperable. As we stuck together even into High School, we thought we'd be friends forever. I even remember sleeping over Matt's house, him and Ryan watching David Letterman late at night and me browsing Newgrounds just within sight of the tv, our happy laughter ringing throughout the house. Then came Year 10 and, one day we were eating lunch together, the next day only Ryan and I were.

Since then we've really lost touch, Matt and I. But I still see Ryan regularly, thank goodness. Still, I often think of the days before and after Year 10 and remind myself that so much can change in the blink of an eye, whether you want it to or not. And sometimes you jut can't go back, no matter how hard you try. Of course, Ryan and I tried our best to stay three and yet Matt had made up his mind to seperate himself. But just because one member of the party wishes to end it doesn't mean you should give u as well, not if it's something you were always really happy with. But there's only so far you can go before it becomes obsessive as well. Life can be pretty tough sometimes. But at least you always have the memories, right?

And then there are the times when you meet someone who you wish you'd met earlier. It's like listening to the radio and finishing a song you don't mind, only to switch the station and find a song that you really adore but it's halfway through thanks to being preoccupied earlier. I have another friend, Lincoln, who is now one of my very best friends as well. We met in High School and became close friends not too long before Matt and I went our sepperate ways. When I first met Lincoln, he said hi and told me his name but I didn't catch it and, since he looked slightly girlish with his long hair, I thought he was just some weird chick who wanted to talk to someone. After I got to know him I realised my mistake but I didn't tell him until Year 11 how I thought he was a girl. We had a good laugh over that one :)

But if we'd met in Primary School we could have had so much more fun as he fit right into our group perfectly and was quite the conversation-starter. Much like another friend met roughly the same time, Andrew. This friend, after I hit him weakly on the arm, shook his head and told me that I "had to be at least level 3" before I could beat him :D

I never had a date to my Year 12 Ball, you know? We met a bit too late for that :(
